Scientists develop resistant paper is water, fire

Thanks to the invention of paper nearly 2,000 years to the Chinese before, and since then attest input materials in the industry's development and great improvement.

A team of researchers at the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics in China to develop the first paper water-resistant and fire in the world. And resist the new paper, even if the water damaged the outer surface, as untainted by any of the coffee and tea.

The researchers say their paper is able to withstand temperatures up to 200 degrees Celsius, making it fire resistant.

It is noteworthy that there are ways for the paper industry fire resistant, or paper-resistant fluids, but it is a new invention is unique because it combines these features, according to Professor Zhou Yingjie, the principal investigator on the project.

The research team began working on the development of new material since 2008, and the recording is being made within the search technology patents. The researchers hope to launch a new product on the market within three years.

It should be noted that the paper made from plant fiber damage quickly when exposed to fluids, but the research team worked on the introduction of wires from hydroxyl Apatite Hydroxylapatite in the new paper.

The hydroxyl Apatite form of calcium forms Ca10 (PO4) 6 (OH) 2 found in bones and teeth, which gives the paper its unique features.

It was reported that the new paper cost a bit high for the costs of A4-sized paper industry, but this cost may be reduced with the downsizing.
